‘Christmas in Tetbury’ was formed in 2010 by members of The Tetbury Chamber of Commerce, the gold award winning Tetbury in Bloom team, The Lions Club of Tetbury and Tetbury Town Council.
Our aim was to improve the look and feel of the Town during the run up to Christmas in order to encourage visitors and residents to come into the Town centre. A theme of warm white lights was chosen to create a uniformity and WOW factor within the Town centre so that Tetbury becomes known as a ‘must’ place to visit during the festive season.
A grant from The Gloucestershire Trade Local Campaign allowed us to buy new low voltage lights, supplied by The Tetbury Hardware Store in Long Street at a generous discount.
Nearly seven hundred new white lights adorned each of the 2 Market House trees which are kindly supplied to The Feoffees of Tetbury by The Lowsley Williams family of Chavenage House. Together with the white lights on the Market House building itself, these formed the centre piece of the Town’s decorations.

hours decorating the Market House with white lights and again members from the Tetbury
in Bloom team assisted in the decorating the two twenty-
The trees and lights on the shop buildings were supplied and erected by Pete Kirkpatrick of KP Gardens Ltd and this took 3 days to complete.
St Marys’ Parish Church agreed to have Christmas lights adorning the main gates. Pete Morrissey of Tetbury in Bloom created a fantastic star using in excess of three hundred lights. It made a wonderful entrance to the church and was admired by many.
The team are still working away to make Tetbury look and feel better and better every year.
